The Panopto editor allows for web based editing from any Mac or Windows computer of Panopto Recordings. Microsoft Silverlight may be required for editing legacy Panopto recordings. If so, you can install Silverlight.

  1. Log into MyClasses, select the desired course, and click Panopto Recordings from the course navigation.  
  2. Move the cursor to the desired recording so the video menu appears and select Edit.

    TIP: By default, the entire recording is an automatically selected segment (portion of video that you want to keep).


  3. Click the scissors icon to enable cutting tools.

  4. To remove the beginning and end of a recording, click from the bar at the beginning or end of the time line and drag it inward to the point at which you want the updated recording to begin or end.

  5. To delete middle portions of your presentation when the scissors are selected, click once on the scissors icon and then, on the section of the presentation you’d video timeline at the beginning of the section you'd like to remove , click and drag to highlight the section you’d like to delete.
    When completed, the segment can be adjusted by dragging the handles in either direction (if needed).

  6. The final result is two segments (numbers one and two) that will be included.

  7. Click "PublishApply" to overwrite the original recording, or “Revert” to restore old settings.
