should have moved to using the McGraw-Hill Connect LTIA integration. LTI Advantage is the new standard in integrations and various integrations are being updated for this standard.

Faculty using McGraw-Hill Connect content are encouraged to setup their Connect course site prior to integrating with their MyClasses course.  The integration with MyClasses and Connect allows for the following:

  • Single-sign on for faculty and students

  • Grade synchronization

  • Ability to have assignments and activities deployed to MyClasses Canvas for direct links within a course (often called deep integration)

The following step-by-step guides detail the main processes for a faculty member to setup their Connect integration. For additional support, faculty can reach out to to their Instructional Design Liaison or submit a Help Request ticket to ID&D.

Pairing MyClasses Course with Connect Course Section - First Time Users

Start in Connect:

  1. Make sure you have a Connect login information (username and password).

  2. Create your Connect course to prepare for MyClasses pairing. Or Duplicate an existing Connect section if one has been shared to you.

In MyClasses:

Connect assignments and activities can be deployed ALL in one module or in several modules.

  1. Login to MyClasses and access your course.

  2. Click Settings from the course navigation menu.

  3. Click the Navigation tab from the top menu and enable McGraw Hill Connect LTIA. Then press Save.

  4. Click on McGraw Hill Connect LTIA from the course menu to launch the integration tool.

  5. Click Begin to start the pairing process.

    (Note: the next step requires a MH Connect Account as an Instructor. If you have not already established an account, you can try the option to "Create Account"; however, you will not be able to proceed until your account has been approved.)

  2. Login to your Connect account, if prompted.

Deploying Connect Assignments to your MyClasses Course:

Connect assignments and activities can be deployed ALL in one module or in several modules. Launch the LTIA tool from the module to which the activities will be added using the following instructions:

  1. Login to MyClasses and access your course.

  2. Click Settings from the course navigation menu.

  3. Click the Navigation tab from the top menu and enable McGraw Hill Connect LTIA. Then press Save.

  4. Click McGraw Hill Connect LTIA to launch the integration tool.

  2. You can set the grade type in bulk or individually.

  3. The deployed assignments will be added to the module.

  4. A grade book column will be created for each graded assignment.

Reusing a MyClasses course copied from previous course with Connect LTIA:

Start In Connect:

  1. Duplicate the Connect section previously paired with the MyClasses section.

  2. Update any assignments or settings, as desired, such as assignment due dates or point values. Note: You can do this after pairing, but changes may not reflect right away in MyClasses.

In MyClasses:

  1. In your current semester course, Import Course Content from your previous course.

  2. Click Settings from the course navigation menu.

  3. Click the Navigation tab from the top menu and enable McGraw Hill Connect LTIA. Then press Save.

  4. Click on McGraw Hill Connect LTIA from the course menu to launch the integration tool.

  5. Click "Begin" to login or "Pair with a Connect Section" if your credentials are already recognized.

  6. Pair with a Connect Section and select the existing course that you created.

  2. During the pairing process it will relink all existing assignments and provides a message to stay on this page until this process has finished.

Copying a MyClasses course using the OLD McGraw-Hill Connect who need to move to the NEW LTIA integration

Start In Connect:

  1. Duplicate the Connect section previously paired with the MyClasses section.

  2. Update any assignments or settings, as desired, such as assignment due dates or point values. Note: You can do this after pairing, but changes may not reflect right away in MyClasses.

In MyClasses:

If you have copied content from a previous semester MyClasses section:

  1. Delete any existing Connect assignment gradebook columns in your course in MyClasses. Existing Connect assignment links will not work with the new integration and they will be duplicated after deploying Connect assignments using the new integration. If you do not delete previous Connect Assignments from your MyClasses course, you will have duplicate assignments and gradebook columns and will have to manually delete assignments linked with the old McGraw Hill Pairing.

Connect Assignments:

Connect Assignments deployed in your Canvas course will be listed in the "Assignments" tool link in MyClasses.

HINT: One way to delete all deployed assignment with fewer clicks is to move ALL Connect assignment into a separate assignment group, then delete the group.
