Panopto statistics provides faculty with insight as to the viewing behaviors of recordings by students within the course.  Statistics include the number of views, number of unique viewers, duration of viewing and identification of individuals who viewed the recordings.


Review Statistics For a Recording Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Log into MyClasses, select the desired course, and click Panopto Recordings from the course navigation. If the Panopto Recordings option is not visible on the course navigation menu, see Enabling Panopto in Your MyClasses Course for information on how to add it to your course menu.

  2. Move the cursor to the desired recording and select Stats.

  3. Graphs will display viewer data. By default, the Last 30 days will be displayed, but you can click on the dropdown menu to select a different view of the Last 7 Days, the Last 90 days, Any time, or a Custom date range.

  4. One graph shows the Views and Downloads of that video by day. This graphs also indicates unique viewers versus repeat viewers, and displays the amount of minutes delivered in the video per date.View and Download by day graph showing viewing spikes on specific dates.

  5. Another graphs shows Viewer Engagement, detailing the amount of views each minute of the video received.

  6. Identification of the specific individuals who have viewed the recordings are available, including the number of viewings and duration of minutes watched. When students click on a video that is embedded within a MyClasses course, their single-sign on is recognized and their name will be identified under the Viewer column. If users access the video through an external link (not signed into MyClasses) then individual viewers will be identified as "Anonymous." This list default to the Top Viewers, but can be expanded to include all viewers by clicking "See All."

  7. All reports can be downloaded to an Excel file to share or save by selecting the Download icon at the top right hand corner of the statistics topic, or by clicking on the type of report listed under Download Reports.
