Salisbury University is utilizing Turnitin Originality Check plagiarism prevention service through MyClasses. The plagiarism prevention service provides a systematic approach to detecting plagiarism, especially the "copy and paste" method, by detecting unoriginal content.

Turnitin assignments are set up through an integration in MyClasses called the Canvas Plagiarism Framework. The Canvas Plagiarism Framework integration allows instructors to use Turnitin directly within MyClasses assignments to check for originality of submitted work. This framework allows faculty to utilize all of the MyClasses assignment features such as:

  • Rubrics

  • Re-submissions

  • Peer reviews

  • Group assignments

Since the Turnitin Originality Score is displayed within MyClasses, you can access the reports through SpeedGrader to open and interpret the results in Feedback Studio.

Faculty who are interested in using Turnitin must include the Required Syllabus Statement in their syllabus.
