There may be times when you need to grant students additional time while they’re taking an assessment. New Quizzes allows you to do this through the Moderate tab.

You can give additional time on a single quiz or for all quizzes in the course.

Additional instructions are included for the use of the “available until” assignment setting.

Tip! You can click on the images in this article to see them larger and with more detail.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. To begin, locate the assessment in Quizzes, click the assessment title, and select Build.

Availability Constraints

If you limit the availability of your quiz to the duration of the quiz. For example, if the quiz is 90 minutes, and the quiz is only available for that 90 minutes, you will need to add an additional Assign To block for the accommodated students.

Assigned Time Example

In this example, the class is given 90 minutes to complete a quiz - 9:00-10:30. The student with accommodations needs twice that time. You will need to add an additional Assign To block that provides the additional time in the Available Until setting - 9:00-12:30
