Services for Alumni & Community Members

Alumni and Community Patrons can access their library accounts online to:

• renew items you have checked out

• check the status of your loans

• update your personal information

• view your outstanding fines and fees

To access your account:

1. Sign in to your account here. Choose "Community Borrower" when prompted.

2. If this is the first time you are logging in, click "Set or Reset Password" to set up your account.

   • Enter your 14-digit library barcode number or the email address on file with the library. 

   • You will receive an email with instructions to set a password.

   • After setting your password, click "Sign In" again and choose "Community Borrower" to get back to the login screen.

3. Enter your 14-digit library barcode from the back of your library card and your account password to sign in.

4. Once signed in, click your name in the upper right corner and choose "Library Card" to access your account details.

Community users are welcome to use computers in the Guerrieri Academic Commons for research, within the guidelines of the Salisbury University Computer Use Policy.  Wi-Fi access is available for personal devices.  To use our computers or access the Wi-Fi, bring a photo ID to the Library Service Desk and complete the necessary form.

Black and white prints cost 10¢ per page and must be directed to print to the Library Service Desk.  Color prints are also available for 50¢ per page. Community patrons should select the following printers when sending print jobs.:

Black and White:  AC146-CIRC
Color: AC146-HPCP5225

We accept cash and check. VISA, MasterCard, and Apple Pay are also accepted but include a $5 minimum.  Patrons are responsible for paying for all pages they send to the printer, so please use Print Preview to select the correct pages before printing. 

Double-sided prints are treated as two pages.

Community members over the age of 18 and living in Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, or Dorchester counties and any SU alumni may register for a Special Borrower Card at the Library Service Desk in the Guerrieri Academic Commons.

Community members must complete a registration form and present valid photo ID and proof of residence upon registration.  There is a $25 replacement fee for all lost Special Borrower Cards.  A new card will not be issued until any outstanding fines have been fully paid.

After registering, you must present your Special Borrower Card to check out materials.  Within the SU Libraries collection, Special Borrowers may borrow books, general collection DVDs, and headphones.  Other items are reserved only for SU Gull Card holders. You are responsible for all materials charged on your card and should be present whenever your card is used.

Most books are loaned for 28 days, and renewals may be requested using the online Library Accounts feature available on the Libraries home page.  Renewals also may be made by phone (410-548-2386) or in person at the Library Service Desk.

SU is both a Federal Depository Library—the only one on the Lower Eastern Shore—and a Maryland State Depository Library, providing free access to printed government documents to all citizens, residents, and visitors.  For suggestions on accessing both print and electronic government documents, see our Government Information Subject Guide.

The SU Libraries MakerLab offers 3D printing, 3D scanning, laser cutting and engraving, button making, lamination, and more. These services are available to anyone, regardless of your affiliation with SU. For more information, visit the MakerLab website.

If you are an alumnus/a of SU or a community member with significant materials relating to SU’s past—scrapbooks from your student days, a diary you kept while on campus, letters home, records of a student organization you were active in—and you would like to donate them to the University Archives, please contact Jennifer Pulsney.  With the centennial of SU’s founding coming up in 2025, we are looking for records documenting student life. The Nabb Center houses outstanding collections on Delmarva’s history and genealogy as well as the University Archives and Special Collections.  We welcome members of the community to do research, attend lectures, view exhibits, and volunteer.  If you have family diaries and letters, organizational records, business ledgers, or similar materials, please consider donating them.  For more information, see the Nabb Center website.
