Windows 11 has updated the right-click context menu. This change is most noticeable when interacting with files and folders. Many of the common right-click menu options like cut, copy, rename, share, and delete have been changed to icons.

If you have an App that you frequently use, you might want to pin it to the Windows taskbar for quicker access. There are a few ways to do this:

  • With the app open, right click the app's icon and select pin to taskbar

  • If there is a shortcut on your desktop or you find it in the File Explorer, you can drag and drop it onto the taskbar

  • You can search the desired app in the Search Bar and click pin to taskbar on the right side

Unpinning Apps

If you have a pinned app on your taskbar that you no longer want there, Right click the app and click Unpin From Taskbar

When you have multiple monitors sometimes you may want to adjust where Windows thinks the monitor is, to where it physically is to the other monitor.
Right click the desktop and select Display settings. Here you can move the monitor boxes to wherever you want the to be. Be sure to click Apply at the end.

Change Main Monitor

Your main monitor is the one that has all of your desktop icons on it, and a most times, apps will open on that monitor by default.
To change this, navigate to the Display settings and check the box for the monitor box you wish to be your main monitor. Then click the checkbox next to Make this my main display.

  • To change the desktop wallpaper right click the desktop and select Personalize.

  • Click Personalize Your Background then Browse Photos if you have an image downloaded.
Here you can choose a preset Windows 11 background or choose a photo that you have downloaded.

  • Windows 11 includes a new way to quickly organize several open windows called Snap Layouts and Groups. When dragging a window, a small bar will appear at the top of your screen. You will be presented with multiple options for screen layout; drag your first screen to your desired layout to begin organizing your screen.  *Hovering over the Maximize button on your browser window will also give the same options for choosing a layout.
