Workday-HCM: Create Job Application

 

Overview

This document explains how Recruiters and Primary Recruiters can create a Job Application. This task may be used if an existing candidate is needed for a job requisition that has not been posted publicly, if a candidate is experiencing technical issues while applying, or if they are not able to upload their resume.

The recommended browser for accessing Workday is Google Chrome. However, Mozilla Firefox and Apple Safari may also be used.

Create Job Application

  1. Enter Create Job Application into the Search bar and select the task.

  2. The Create Job Application pop-up displays.

  3. Candidate: Enter the Candidate’s Name or use the Prompt to select a Candidate. Notes:

  • This should be an existing candidate.

  • If the candidate does not exist in the tenant, please create a prospect record first before creating a job application.

  1. Jobs: Use the Prompt to select a Job Requisition.

  2. Select the Radio for Manually or Parse Information from a Resume/CV to choose how to fill out the Job Application.

Note: This job aid covers the Manually selection choice.

  1. Select OK.

  2. The Create Job Application page displays.

  3. Source: Select the appropriate Source for the application.

Notes:

  • This is required.

  • Use the Prompt to change the selection if applicable.

  1. Complete any applicable or required fields under the Experience, Education, Certifications, or Language

tabs.

  1. Scroll up and select the Resume/Cover Letter tab.

Note: If there is a resume/cover letter in Workday for the Candidate, it is automatically added to the job application. Proceed to step 12.

  1. Use Select Files to upload the Candidate’s Resume/Cover Letter.

  2. Select OK.

Note: The job application is created, and the candidate has applied to the job requisition.
