Overview

This document explains how employees can add, edit or remove their education, certification or job history in Workday.

The recommended browser for accessing Workday is Google Chrome. However, Mozilla Firefox and Apple Safari may also be used.

Considerations by Institution

 

Any edits made to an employee’s education are routed for approval.

Manage Education

Note: This task will show employees how to add their education information.

  1. Navigate to your Worker Profile in the top right corner and select View Profile.

  2. Select the Career tab on the blue menu pane.

Note: You may need to select “More” to select the Career tab.

  1. Select the Education tab.

  2. Select Edit located at the bottom of the page.

  3. The Edit Career Profile page displays.

  4. On the Education tab, fill in out the following fields:

Note: Although it is not the first tab, Education displays. If applicable, follow along the next steps to add Education and Job History.

a. Select Add.

b. Country: Automatically populates to the United States of America.

Note: Use the Prompt to select a different Country if the education was completed outside of the United States.

c. School: Use the Prompt to select the School.

Notes:

  • Selecting the Prompt gives the option to select an institution by state or province.

  • If you cannot find your Institution, select the checkbox next to “If you cannot find the school, click here” and enter the Institution Name, Location, and Institution Type.

d. Degree: Use the Prompt to select the Degree.

e. Degree Received: Use the Drop Down Arrow to select Yes or No.

i. If you selected No, skip to step 7.

ii. (Optional) If you selected Yes, enter the Year the Degree was Received.

Note: You may receive an Alert stating: “Verify that you don't want to enter a Year Degree Received even though you selected Yes for Degree Received.”

f. (Optional) Field of Study: Use the Prompt to select the Field of Study.

g. (Optional) First Year Attended: Enter the First Year Attended.

h. (Optional) Last Year Attended: Enter the Last Year Attended.

i. (Optional) Grade Average: Enter the Grade Average.

j. (Optional) Select the trash can icon to remove education that is incorrect.

k. (Optional) Select Add to enter additional education and repeat steps a-i.

  1. (Optional) Select the Certifications tab and continue filling out the following fields:

    1. Select Add.

    2. Country: Automatically populates.

    3. Certification: Use the Prompt to select the Certification.

Note: If you cannot find the certification, select the checkbox.

d. Certification Number: Enter the Certification Number.

e. Issue Date: Use the Calendar to select the Issue Date.

f. Expiration Date: Use the Calendar to select the Expiration Date.

g. (Optional) Attachments: Drop in or select files.

h. Select Next to save changes.

  1. (Optional) Select the Job History tab and continue filling out the following fields:

a. Select Add.

b. Job Title: Enter your Job Title.

c. Company: Use the Prompt to select the Company.

Note: If you cannot find the Company, select the checkbox.

d. Start Date: Use the Calendar to select the Start Date.

e. End Date: Use the Calendar to select the End Date.

f. (Optional) Responsibilities and Achievements: Enter your Responsibilities and Achievements.

g. (Optional) Location: Enter the Location.

h. (Optional) Reference: Enter References.

i. (Optional) Contact Information: Enter Contact Information.

  1. Select the Summary tab.

  2. Select OK.

Notes:

  • Depending on the Institution, employees may be required to provide documentation to verify their Education in Workday. However, this documentation is not accepted through the attachments section on this task. Employees should follow their institution’s policy or handbook guidelines on updating Education.

  • To edit or remove Education, repeat steps.
