Workday-HCM: Performance Improvement Plan & Disciplinary Action for Employees
Overview:
This document outlines how employees review and acknowledge their Performance Improvement Plan or a Disciplinary Action Plan.
The recommended browser for accessing Workday is Google Chrome. However, Mozilla Firefox and Apple Safari may also be used.

Acknowledging Performance Improvement Plan (PIP)
Notes:
The manager initiates the Performance Improvement Plan, which is then be reviewed and approved by Human Resources.
The process below occurs after the approval from Human Resources and a meeting between the manager and employee.
In My Tasks under All Items, select the Manager Evaluation: Performance Improvement Plan: EMPLOYEE NAME item.
Review the performance statement on screen.
Select Get Started.
The Provide Employee Review Comments page displays.
Review the summary and select Next.
Fill in the following fields under Acknowledgement:
Status: use the Prompt to select the Status.
(Optional) Comments: enter any Comments regarding the Performance Improvement Plan in the
Comments text box.
Select Submit.
Note: Select Save to complete later.
Acknowledging Disciplinary Action
Note:
The manager initiates the Disciplinary Action, which is then be reviewed and approved by Human Resources.
The process below occurs after the approval for a written disciplinary action and manager meeting with the employee.
A Disciplinary Action that will result in Termination will initiate a separate process.
In My Tasks under All Items, select the Manager Evaluation ítem.
Select Get Started.
The Provide Employee Review Comments page displays.
Review the summary and select Next.
Fill in the following fields under Acknowledgement:
Status: use the Prompt to select a Status.
b. (Optional) Comments: enter any comments regarding the Disciplinary Action in the Comments
text box.
Select Submit.
Notes:
Select Save for Later to complete later.
After submission, the manager will receive the task to provide manager review comments.
