Guidelines for Purchasing Printers or Scanners
Salisbury University maintains a contract with Canon to provide printing and scanning solutions across campus. This partnership offers several key advantages and aligns with the University’s sustainability goals.
Why Use Canon Devices
Using Canon printers and scanners is the preferred and recommended option for all campus departments because it:
Provides cost savings through the University’s established contract.
Simplifies IT support by ensuring all devices are standardized and easily maintained.
Supports campus sustainability initiatives led by the Physical Plant and energy advisors.
Exceptions and Special Requests
In certain situations, a Canon device may not be the most suitable option—for example:
The department operates in a remote location not serviced by Canon.
There are special requirements that cannot be met by Canon equipment.
