Dell Command Application not loaded in Software Center
If you’ve come across the Dell Command Update Application deployment error when imaging Windows 11 laptops, Micro or Desktops, please following the instructions:
Access the Desktop .net core version from \\nas\software$\Updates\PMPCApps\Applications\Microsoft Corporation\Microsoft _NET Core Desktop Runtime 8 (EXE-x64)\b6800788-d4d6-4ee9-9597-07c259a6ba07
Choose the windowsdesktop runtime 8.0.22
NOTE: If the PMPC Version has updated, you can manually install .netcore desktop 8.0.23 here: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/thank-you/runtime-desktop-8.0.23-windows-x64-installer
Locate the Dell Command application from \\nas\software$\Updates\PMPCApps\Applications\Dell, Inc_\Dell Command Update for Windows Universal
Once you complete the install, the device will be prompted to restart.
You then can run the application as normal and allow it to check for all updates.
This should resolve the Dell Command application issue.
PLEASE Note: The Desktop .net core is deployed during the Image as its Task Sequence.
You can confirm this by following the step one and when you attempt to install the .net application, you will be prompted to perform a repair or uninstall.
The Dell Command Update Application will not be in Software Center or Already installed Application. You will need to manually install it using Step 3.
You can also manually install the Microsoft.NET Desktop Runtime 8.0.23.35609 from Software Center as its pre-Req before following onto Step 3.
These instructions are up to date and the current resolution for Images S, M and L.
