Adding a secondary ringer to Teams

Adding a secondary ringer to Teams

When you connect a headset or USB handset to your computer it often wants to take over all audio output. If you would prefer to only use the headset/handset for Teams/phone calls here are the settings to change.

Inside of Teams

At the far top right of the Teams window click the three dots next to your profile picture or initials, then select Settings

Look for the Secondary Ringer option. Click the dropdown box and select your computer speakers, or the device you want to use to hear the ringing when you don’t have your headset on.

In your computer taskbar

At the bottom right of your monitor, next to your clock, are the controls for audio. Click the speaker icon to bring up the system tray, then click the sound output button.
