Changes to Wolfram data types in Excel
Effective May 31st, 2022, Wolfram data types in Excel will no longer be supported. All the data that users have previously established in workbooks will continue to be available. Access to the Wolfram service for linked data will be removed.
While Wolfram data types in existing workbooks will be retained, you will not be able to add new Wolfram data types, nor will you be able to refresh data, follow links, and view new images within existing data types. The buttons on the ribbon for data types powered by Wolfram, like “Automatic”, “Food”, and “Movies”, will be removed.
All the data that users have previously established in workbooks will continue to be available. Existing data types will not be removed, they just won't be connected to any data service. It will feel like using Wolfram data types in a workbook while not connected to the internet. To lookup information to supplement workbooks, data is available to download from Wolfram|Alpha in a variety of file formats, including XLS, XLSX, CSV and TSV.
