Workday - Dashboards
Overview:
This document explains how employees can use dashboards in Workday.
Dashboards allow workers to perform interactive analysis of key information and actionable items by consolidating them into an easily accessible single location. Dashboards may contain worklets, menus with related tasks and reports, and announcements.
Dashboards are also known as applications or worklets in Workday. Dashboards are accessible as applications under the Menu. There are six mandatory applications assigned to all users in Workday. However, depending on your user role, you may have access to additional applications.
- The recommended browser for accessing Workday is Google Chrome. However, Mozilla Firefox and Apple Safari may also be used.

View Dashboards
- The reports, tasks, charts, and worklets available within a dashboard are recommended for your security role and business purpose. For example, while you and a colleague in a different position may both have access to the same dashboard, the reports available on the dashboard may differ, based on your individual roles and responsibilities.
- Some dashboards are pre-configured; others need to be configured and refreshed.
- Some dashboards may not allow the user to remove or add applications based on security settings.
Select Menu on the Workday Home Page and choose an application or dashboard.
View information on prepopulated worklets or reports on the dashboard and conduct analysis as needed.
Select any blue text within a chart or report, under a chart or stand-alone report, or worklet by hovering over the blue text to drill down further for additional analysis.
Select related actions by hovering over any blue text in a stand-alone report for additional actions that can be taken from report data.
Run additional suggested reports on the dashboard.
Run additional suggested tasks on the dashboard.
Review any announcements at the top of the dashboard.
Configure Worklets on a Dashboard
- Some worklets on a dashboard may not be configured and will display a message stating the worklet setting requires more information.
- Configure the worklet to display only the data that is relevant to you.
Select the Gear.
Select Edit Settings.
Complete the worklet prompts on Edit Worklet Settings pop up.
Any fields with a red asterisk are required.
Select OK.
Select Done.
The worklet now displays information.
The worklet may load data immediately after selecting Done or there may be a short delay. Exiting and re-entering the dashboard can refresh the data.
