  1. If you are using an SU provided computer, you can install Panopto from the Software Center. Instructions on Installing Software using Software Center/Self Service article from the Technology Support Center.

Installing the Panopto Recorder on a personal computer Step-by-Step Guide

  1. In your MyClasses Canvas course, select Panopto Recordings from the Course Navigation.

    Note: If you do not see Panopto Recordings on the Course Navigation, the instructor must first add and configure Panopto. Visit Enabling Panopto in Your MyClasses Course.

  2. Click Create and then select Record a New Session.

  3. Select the desired installation for PC or Mac.

    Note: If you have problems downloading the installation file, right-click on the desired option and select Open in New Tab or Window.

  4. Choose to either SAVE or OPEN the file and wait for the download to conclude and then run the program panoptorecorder.exe or Panopto Recorder.pkg.
  5. Open the installation file and follow the prompts on your computer to continue the installation.
