The Canvas Plagiarism Framework integration allows instructors to use Turnitin directly within MyClasses assignments to check for originality of submitted work. This framework allows faculty to utilize all of the MyClasses assignment features (such as rubrics, re-submissions, and peer reviews) and obtain originality report for individual or group assignments.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Access your course in MyClasses Canvas.

  2. Click Assignments from the course navigation menu.

  3. Click the Add Assignment button.

  4. In the assignment options page, enter the required information (Name, Points, Assignment Group, and Display Grade as).

  5. For the Submission Type, select Online and then select File Uploads, Text Entry, or both.

  6. Scroll down to the Plagiarism Review drop-down menu and select Turnitin.

  7. Choose the Turnitin settings you wish to use and when students should see the originality report. Watch the Creating a Turnitin Assignment video tip below for more details about the Turnitin settings.

  8. Click Save or Save & Publish to save changes to the assignment.
