Students with documented accommodations are often allowed additional time on an exam. There are two methods for giving additional time for assessments in your course.

Add additional time for ALL assessments.

To establish an accommodation for ALL assessments in a course:

  1. Within your course, select Quizzes.

  2. Click on the title of the specific assessment.

  3. After selecting the assessment, click Build in the bottom right corner.

  1. Select the Moderate tab and then click the student's name to make the desired time adjustments for every assessment in the course.

  2. The moderation page reflects the additional time change. This setting will be applied automatically to all existing and newly created assessments in the course.

Add additional time for a single assessment.

  1. Within your course, select Quizzes.

  2. Click on the title of the specific assessment.

  3. After selecting the assessment, click Build in the bottom right corner.

  4. Then select Moderate.

  5. Click Moderate next to the student's name who would like to give extra time to.

  6. In the Moderation menu, select Give Additional Time from the Time Adjustments drop down options.

  7. Select the correct amount of additional time needed. A student who receives a time and a half accommodation, would be given 30 minutes to add to the current 1hr time limit.

  1. Once adjusted, the setting automatically saves and you can click X to close.

  2. The Moderation page reflects the additional time change by adding + minutes under accommodation.
