The Publish to Canvas wizard is available in Respondus from the Preview & Publish menu and it guides a user through the steps of publishing a quiz to MyClasses Learn. You must already have a Canvas course and have opened a Respondus file in order to use this task. The following steps will guide you on how to add a server and publish an exam to a single Canvas Course.

Publishing an Assessment to Canvas Step-by-Step Guide

  1. On the Start tab, ensure that the personality is set to Canvas.  If this personality is not selected, use the drop down box to select the “Canvas” personality.
  2. Open the assessment in Respondus and then click on the Preview & Publish tab.
  3. Click Publish to Canvas.
  4. Select the Publish Wizard.

    Type of Publish prompt, Add a New Server option and an Edit Settings Button at the top of the window. Next, Cancal and Help buttons at the bottom of the window.

  5. Select MyClasses as the server. If you do not see a server listed:
    1. Select the option to add new server from the drop down list.
    2. Select  No to select preconfigured server settings and click Next.
  6. Follow the Canvas Server Settings setup instructions.  Enter your Username and Password.  If using an office or personal computer, select the checkmark to remember your account information and then click OK.

  7. Click Next.
  8.  The MyClasses login page will pop-up, enter your username and password for MyClasses.

  9. The integration of Respondus and MyClasses is through an app. Click Authorize to setup your account to use Respondus with Canvas.

  10. Select the assessment type and title for the assessment as it should appear to students.                                                                                                                                                                                                   Options to upload as a graded quiz or question bank, enter a name for the item, and check other options. A BAck, Next, Cancel and Help button are at the bottom of the window.
  11. Click Next.
  12. Select the course where the assessment should appear.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    MyClasses course list to select where the quiz or question bank will be uploaded to.
  13.   14. A report will display on the process of publishing. Click Finish when the status says Completed Successfully.
