ID&D KB How-to Guide

Working together to enhance teaching & learning. If you need additional assistance, please reach out to the ID&D team.

MyClasses is the campus supported learning management system for online, hybrid and traditional courses and utilizes the Canvas LMS platform. Salisbury University uses the name MyClasses for consistency as learning management systems can change over the years. Student enrollment for the current semester and session is updated every four hours.

Supported Browsers

MyClasses supports Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari.  Internet Explorer is no longer supported (July 2019). View the list of specific versions of browsers that are supported for use with MyClasses.

First Time Using MyClasses

For faculty who are new to using MyClasses, we recommend the /wiki/spaces/IDD/pages/79168224 to help you get started. Workshops are offered by Instructional Design & Delivery throughout the semester as well as in January and August each year. Faculty can also reach out to their Instructional Designer liaison for assistance.

Course Creation and Enrollments

Credit bearing courses are created through a report between GullNet and MyClasses and enrollments are updated every 4 hours. Instructors must be associated with the course in GullNet in order for the report to enroll them in their respective MyClasses course. Please see the following chart for when courses, instructor enrollment and student enrollments are added based on semesters and sessions:

Student Access to Courses

Student access to courses occurs one week prior to the start of the session and ends two weeks after the last day of final exams. These dates are associated at the section level through the report between GullNet and MyClasses. Faculty do not need to adjust dates at the course level. Courses are only available to students when a faculty member Publishes the courses (regardless of the section dates).

Course Access for Students with an Incomplete

Any course in which a student receives an incomplete or extension that is denoted on the official grade roster in GullNet will be extended in MyClasses to the mid-semester date of the next full semester or a date the faculty member requests through the Incomplete Grade Extension form. ID&D runs a weekly report between GullNet and MyClasses to update the section dates to provide continuity of access to the course. Extended access is applied to the entire course and not just for the individual student(s) receiving an incomplete.
