You may have an existing quiz or want to create a new quiz (using the New Quiz format) which will utilize questions that you have stored in an Item bank. You may want to import only one question, a group of questions, or have the quiz randomly select questions for a section of the quiz. All of this is possible using a New Quiz and Item Banks!

Prior to importing questions it is advised to make sure the Item banks you will access are shared with your course. Refer to the KB article "Sharing Your Item Banks" for information on how to do this.

To import a single question, or a static group of questions into a quiz:

  1. Open or create the quiz you wish to import the questions into (refer to directions in the “Create a New Quiz” how-to guide on how to create a new quiz)
  2. Click the red “Build” button in the lower right corner of the page.

  3. In an existing quiz, scroll down to where you want to import a question
  4. Click the blue “+” button to add a new question

  5. Click on the folder icon in the upper right corner of the “Insert Content” pop up window

  6. Select the “This Course” option from the pulldown menu on the “Banks” page that appears
  7. Select the Item Bank you want by click on its name

  8. Click the blue “+” button for the question you wish to import.

  9. Repeat Step 8 for all questions contained in the Bank that you wish to import.
  10. Close the Item Bank page by click the “x” in the upper left corner of the page, and return to your quiz
