How to view the feedback an instructor has left on your online assignment or quiz in MyClasses.

Step-by-step guide

Double-check for proper assignment submission

  1. Go to the assignment details page by clicking the name of the assignment from the Assignments page in your course, from within a module, or from the Grades page.

  2. On the assignment details page, you should see the word Submitted, with a timestamp of the date and time it was submitted next to it. If you have not successfully submitted the assignment, it will say In Progress instead.

Viewing Feedback

  1. From this assignment details page, you will find your grade, showing how many points you earned out of the possible points you could earn for the assignment. Click the “View Feedback” button to expand a tray with your assignment feedback, including any potential attachments. This tray will open automatically the first time you access the assignment after feedback has been left. You can close out the feedback tray to look for additional feedback on the submission if you uploaded a file type that allows for feedback annotation. If the instructor used a rubric for grading, you will also see a "View Rubric" option that shows the criteria, rating, earned score, and comments, if feedback was left directly in the rubric.

  2. If your instructor allows for multiple submissions, you can click the "Try again" button to submit to the assignment an additional time. If you have submitted more than one time, you will see a dropdown menu that allows you to move between your submission attempts to review your grade and feedback for each attempt.

Saving Feedback

If your instructor annotates directly on a submission, such as an essay submission, you can download and save the annotated feedback to keep and review offline at any time by clicking the ‘Download annotated PDF’ icon.

Additional information for the Grades page

If you locate your assignment from the Grades page, you may notice additional areas for quick feedback review. Next to an assignment, depending on the type of feedback left, you may notice certain icons, with each icon representing a certain status for your assignment.

  • The eye icon

indicates that a score is hidden while an instructor is working on grades for this assignment.

  • The rocket icon

indicates that your quiz was submitted, but has not been fully graded.

  • An ‘EX’

next to a grade indicates that the assignment has been excused and will not be considered in your total grade calculation.

  • The clipboard icon

indicates that a rubric was used by the instructor to grade the assignment.

  • The discussion icon

indicates a comment has been left on the assignment by the instructor.
