Instructors can add quiz questions to a Panopto video to track students' progress and understanding of the video topic. This guide provides instructions on how to create a Panopto Assignment using the External Tool assignment submission type, to post and sync students' grad to the course Gradebook in MyClasses.

The following video provides instructions on how to add a Panopto video with quiz questions as an assignment in MyClasses where the score automatically feeds into the gradebook.

Step-by-step Instructions:

  1. Log in to MyClasses and navigate to a course where you want to create a Panopto assignment.
  2. Select Assignments from the course navigation menu. Then select the + Assignment button in the top right-hand corner
  3. Now you can give the Assignment a title and assign a number of points you want it to be worth.
  4. Select “External Tool” as the Submission Type for the Assignment.
  5. Click Find and select Panopto Assignment

  6. Select what Panopto video you want to set as the assignment. Then, click Insert.

  7. Click Select again to complete the external tool assignment configuration

  8. You can set the due date and when the assignment opens and then click Save for later editing or Save & Publish so students can take it.

The Assignment will now show up on the Assignments page and can be edited by the instructor. Once published it can also be taken by Students.
