Student Response System:

Student Response System is a technology used to promote active learning in classrooms. The system allows groups of people to vote on a topic, take a survey or answer a question.

Salisbury University is utilizing PointSolutions, (formerly known as TurningPoint), applications for student response class activities. To receive credit for PointSolutions activities, all students must have a PointSolutions Account, a PointSolutions Account Subscription, and a Response Device (a physical clicker, OR, a web enabled mobile device). All faculty must have a PointSolutions Account.

Using the PointSolutions App:

The PointSolutions desktop application provides faculty with three options to setup different styles of polling:

  1. PowerPoint Polling:
    1. Variety of polling question types.
    2. Session results are saved locally on the computer at: C:\Users\username\Documents\TurningPoint\Sessions
    3. (Instructor must move session results file to the P: drive or an external storage device)

  2. Anywhere Polling:
    1. Web based application can be used with PowerPoint Polling.
    2. Session results are saved on the web and can be accessed from the instructor's account.
    3. Limited questions type.

  3. Self-Paced Polling:
    1. Content is created where students engage through an assessment or survey at their own pace.
    2. Session results are saved on the web and can be accessed from the instructor's account.
