Located in the third floor of Conway Hall (TETC), the Integrated Media Center includes a High Definition production video studio, a standard definition instructional video studio, an HD audio recording studio, 15 video editing suites, 5 audio editing suites, and two multiple media computer labs. The focus of the IMC is on the creation of digital content. Students from music, art, communications and theater currently take courses in the center, but the tools involved in this creative space can be used by any academic area or career field.
Students learn to shoot video in both the studio and filed settings. Video post production can be done on either PC or MAC using AVID or Final Cut pro editing software. Students can record music, voice overs or podcasts in the professional recording studio using ProTools editing systems.

Standard Definition Video Studio
The IMC includes a standard definition video studio and control room totally over 1500 square feet. The SD studio includes:
- 3 Panasonic AG-HPX500 cameras
- 3 Panasonic AJ-D455 Video taper recorders
- 1 360 systems short cut 2000 hard disk recording system
- 1 JVC SR-S365U S-VHS recorder Player
- 1 Ross Synergy 1.5MD Switcher

- Professional Studio Lighting
The television studios are for academic functions only, normally scheduled classes take priority over any outside functions. The television studios studio will be available for general academic use on Friday from 10am to 4pm or by prior arrangement with A/V Engineering Services. All work will be scheduled at least twenty four hours in advance.
Media Services will provide technical support for your scheduled session but please remember that any media needed for production such as blank DVD, Video Tapes or removable drives will be the responsibility of the booking party.
This time period is reserved for academic functions only! Non academic use is limited to Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5pm to 11pm.
The studios are available for outside and commercial functions for a monomial cost, only during normal business hours and only with an authorized representative of the university present. The Bluewaters Foundation Audio Recording Studio
The IMC includes an audio recording studio and control room totaling over 1000 square feet. The audio studio includes:
- 1 Yamaha DM2000V2-VCM Mixing Console
- 1 Dididesign ProTools HD1 audio editing software
- 1 Digidesign ProTools HD2 accelerator software
- 1 Digidesign ProTools M-Box 2 pro audio editing system
- 2 Tascam CD recorders
- 3 Tascam multitrack recorders
The audio studio is for academic functions only; normally scheduled classes take priority over any outside functions.
The recording studio will be available General Academic use on Monday from 5pm to 10pm and Tuesday 1pm to 10pm. All work will be scheduled at least twenty four hours in advance using the signup sheet located at the Media Services counter in Conway Hall 334
A/V Engineering Services will provide technical support for your scheduled session but please remember that any media needed for production such as blank CD, Thumb Drives or removable drives will be the responsibility of the booking party.

Video editing suites
The IMC includes 15 video editing suites. Twelve are PC based and three and three operate on the Apple PAC Pro.
PC suites (12) include Avid media Composer software, Dell Precision 490 workstation with dual 20” monitors, and Tannoy speakers
MAC suites (3) include Final Cut Pro on MAC workstations and dual 20” monitors with Tannoy speakers

Distance learning/Teleconferencing rooms
SU supports five distance learning/teleconferencing rooms. All include Polycom HD internet based conferencing systems. Rooms also include computers, sympodium annotation devices, Wolfvision document readers, DVD players and projection equipment. Rooms and locations include:

Tape to DVD, DVD to DVD Copies and DVD Production
For creating or copying of DVD discs you must provide source material on Mini DV, S-VHS, DVC-PRO or regular VHS tapes. all material has to be of good quality and contain no brakes in the program material.

Facility or Students wanting to copy material to DVD format will have to pay a $5.00 fee for each disc. A/V Engineering Services can provide a DVD authoring station for producing complex projects requiring directories, sub directories, close caption or other specialized applications. Departments can send material to be copied to A/V Engineering Services by campus mail along with a work order to pay any duplication or media cost.
Recording events, classes or presentations
A/V Engineering Services can record your event, class or presentation. This can take place in one of our two television production studios or at the site of your event.
Contact Ray Fantini rafantini@salisbury.edu with the date, location and description of what you want recorded and we will attempt to provide you with all the necessary information for a successful production.
Cost will vary with simple recordings with one camera being little more then the cost of the student labor to more elaborate productions that may involve an entire studio and crew. Also remember that the facilities and equipment are provided primarily for educational functions only, ANY non Academic function is subject to a commercial rate schedule.
Please try to contact A/V Engineering Services at least thirty days prior to your event with the description of the production, location and university work order with account for the paying department.
Editing Services
The IMC provides 12 Avid Media Composer editing suites, 3 Final Cut Pro video editing suites, and 5 Pro Tools audio editing suites. These state of the art facilities are open 80 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters.
Salisbury University operates eight Avid non linear editing bays. At this time we support the P2,Mini DV, DVC pro, S-VHS and VHS format. All Editing systems are integrated by a Avid Unity Network, Avid Adrenaline work stations are included in both television studios for editing in SD or HD formats. We no longer maintain analog editing systems for S-VHS and VHS formats.
Conway Hall room 335 provides a classroom with a Avid Media Composer work station connected to the Avid Unity network for basic editing instruction.
All editing systems can be reserved for use in the Integrated Media Center on the third floor of Conway Hall. Equipment is only available during regularly scheduled hours and during normal campus work days.

In order to reserve or use editing facilities you must first have completed the CMAT Electronic Field Production (EFP) course or obtained training from the Media Services department.
Equipment
All equipment in the Media Services area exist to serve the Students, Faculty and Staff of the University. Equipment may be signed out or used for academic functions only. All equipment is available for a maximum of one day or over a weekend, other lengths of time must be coordinated with A/V Engineering Services. All equipment can be reserved and returned to the check out counter
Hours of operation for the counter for the semester will be Monday thru Thursday, 9AM to 11pm, 9 Am to 5 PM on Friday and closed on Saturdays.
Many items require special training or orientation prior to use and as always regularly scheduled classes take priority. The final decision on approval of equipment use will be determined by Media Services. Media Services reserves the right to change or amend the policy without prior notice.
