ID&D KB How-to Guide

Working together to enhance teaching & learning. If you need additional assistance, please reach out to the ID&D team.

Instructors participating in the Inclusive Access (IA) program will need to set up their courses with the tools and information/instruction pages for students to be able to access the course materials. There are two types of course materials that can be accessed via Inclusive Access, eBook or Courseware. Tools and instructions vary depending on the type of book adoption, eBook or courseware

Step 1: Ensure VitalSource Course Materials is on Course Menu

By default, “VitalSource Course Materials" should be visible and enabled within your MyClasses course on the left course navigation menu. If it is not visible:

  1. Access your course in MyClasses.

  2. Click Settings at the bottom of the course navigation bar.

  3. Click the Navigation tab.

  4. Drag the "VitalSource Course Materials" to the top list.

  5. Scroll down and click Save.

Step 2: Add Information Page and Instructions

ID&D provides a page with instructions for your students on how to access the course materials. This page can be modified by the faculty member based on their course and the information they would like to provide their students.

  1. Import the "Textbook and Course Materials with Inclusive Access" page from the Canvas Commons.

  2. Edit/modify any course specific instructions as needed.

Step 3: Courseware additional setup instructions

If you are utilizing Publisher Courseware, such as Cengage MindTap, Cengage WebAssign, McGraw-Hill Connect, Pearson MyLab and Pearson Mastering, then please use instructions based on your textbook publisher to pair/link your MyClasses course section with publisher course section.
