When a student withdraws from a course, the student is marked inactive within the course. Students who are inactive in the course are restricted from accessing the course, however all participation and activity is retained for the instructor. Depending on the course settings, an instructor might no longer see the student in Grades.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

To display any student who is inactive in the course, open your gradebook:

  1. Select the three-dot icon (settings) at the top of the Student Name column

  2. Select Inactive enrollments from the drop-down menu

While this setting is selected, inactive students will appear in your gradebook.
