Importing Questions from an Item Bank

You may have an existing quiz or want to create a new quiz which will utilize questions that you have stored in an Item bank. You may want to import individual questions or have the quiz randomly select questions from the Item Bank with the assessment. All of this is possible using Item Banks!
Prior to importing questions it is advised to make sure the Item banks you will access are shared with your course. Refer to the KB article “Sharing Your Item Banks" for information on how to do this.
Using Item Banks to add questions to an assessment
Click the (a) blue plus button to add a question and (b) select the Item Banks icon (above the list of question types).
Locate the Item Bank that contains the questions you want to use in the assessment.
Once you have located the Item Bank with existing questions, click on the title to see the questions.
To add a single question from the item bank to the assessment:
To add the entire Item Bank to randomize the delivery of the questions to the students, select the All/Random button:
Repeat steps 2-3 to add questions to your assessment. After adding all of the desired questions from Item Banks, click the X to close the Item Banks window.
To establish settings for randomized questions from an Item Bank, locate the desired Item Bank in the list of questions and select the pencil icon to edit.
To use and randomize all questions in the Item Bank, select Use all questions under Question selection.
To select a specific number of questions from the entire Item Bank, select Randomly select questions under Question selection.
Establish the number of points for each question in the Item Bank and click Done to save.
Continue adding questions. Once you have added all the questions to your assessment from Item Banks, you can adjust your Settings or click the Return button in the top right to return to your MyClasses course area.
