Duo: Getting a new Phone with a Different Number

If you are planning on getting a new phone with a different phone number you will need both phones in order to approve the transfer of Duo to the new phone. 

If you do not have the previously used phone you will need to contact our Help Desk at 410-677-5454 for assistance. 

If you have both phones please complete the following to complete the transfer of Duo. 

Open an application that requires a Duo login such as https://www.gullnet.salisbury.edu

After entering your user name and password you will be prompted for Duo verification. 

At the Duo Authentication screen select Add a new Device

  

Choose Send Me a Push or Enter a Passcode and complete the authentication using the old device to login to the settings.

Once authenticated it will ask what type of device you would like to add-make the appropriate selection.

You will then be asked what type of operating system is on the device

You will need to have Duo installed on the new device.  If you have not already done so please do that now.  

Once you click I have Duo Mobile Installed a QR code will show on screen.  

Go to the new device and open the Duo app.  Press the + button to scan the code.

Upon installation of DUO you will be asked for permission to use the camera.  You must allow DUO to use your camera in order to scan the activation code.

Select Use QR code then hold your camera to the QR code for it to scan.

Select Save after naming the account.

You will receive a green check mark on screen or the below message once your device is successfully activated.  

Press Continue to complete the login and setup process.  

You will now be able to send yourself a Push request when logging in and approve via the DUO app on your phone. Below is an example of the prompt you will receive on your phone.
