Workday-HCM: Applying to an Internal Job
Overview
This document explains how employees can apply to an internal job posting at their institution using the Jobs Hub application. Jobs Hub is the central hub to view and access job postings, review any relevant tasks related to your applications, and review your recent applications and the current status of those applications.
The recommended browser for accessing Workday is Google Chrome. However, Mozilla Firefox and Apple Safari may also be used.

Internal Apply
Select the Jobs Hub application under Menu.
Note: In the Jobs Hub, you can also view suggested links like “My Referrals.”
Select Browse Internal Jobs.
Note: All jobs related to your institution will display.
Review positions listed.
Select the position that you are applying for.
The View Job Posting Details page displays for the position.
Select Apply.
The Apply to Job page displays.
In the Additional Information section, your contact information automatically populates.
Note: Recruiters use this to contact you about the position that you are applying for.
Fill in the following fields under the Experience section:
Company: Use the Company Prompt to select a Company.
Notes:
Select the checkbox if the company cannot be found using the prompt.
Enter the Company Name into the Company Name field that displays after selecting the checkbox.
b. Title: Enter the Job Title.
c. (Optional) Location: Enter the Job Location.
d. (Optional) Start Month: Select your start month from the drop down menu.
e. Start Year: Enter the Start Year.
f. (Optional) End Month: Select the End Month from the drop down menu.
g. End Year: Enter the End Year.
h. (Optional) Select the checkbox to confirm that you currently work for the company.
i. (Optional) Responsibilities and Achievements: Enter any applicable responsibilities and achievements.
(Optional) Select Add to add additional experience to the Experience section.
Fill in the following fields under the Education section:
Note: If your education information is already in your Workday Talent Profile, this section automatically populates to the information listed in your Workday Talent Profile.
a. School: Use the School Prompt to select an institution.
b. (Optional) First Year Attended: Enter the first year you attended the institution.
c. (Optional) Last Year Attended: Enter the last year you attended the institution.
d. Degree: Select the degree type you received from the dropdown menu.
e. (Optional) Field of Study: Select a field of study from the dropdown menu.
f. (Optional) GPA: Enter the GPA received at the institution.
(Optional) Select Add to add additional education to the education section.
(Optional) Select Add to add any Certifications and Languages to your application.
In the Resume/Cover Letter section, choose Select files or drag and drop files to add your resume and/or cover letter.
Note: You may add comments about your resume and/or cover letter in the comment textbox.
Complete the following questions on the Internal Candidate Questionnaire:
Is your manager aware that you are applying for another internal role: Select Yes or No.
How long have you been in your current position for: Enter your response in the text box.
Is your performance in good standing: Select Yes or No.
(Optional): Enter any comments into the Comments text box.
Select Submit.
Notes:
Select Save for Later to save and complete your application at a later date.
Once submitted, the Recruiter assigned to the job will receive a notification that you have applied for the position.
The View Job Posting Details page displays.
View My Applications
Notes:
You must have submitted a job application to an internal job to view the application using the steps in this section.
Select the Jobs Hub application from the Menu.
The Overview page displays showing recent applications.
Select Overview tab or My Applications tab to view your recent job application(s).
Note: When selecting My Applications, you will have the option to view or withdraw your application.
